Album Alert: Arms Akimbo – “Seven Dollar Paycheck” (EP)

The 4-piece Los Angeles indie-rock group known as Arms Akimbo release their sophomore EP, Seven Dollar Paycheck.

The 5-track project features melodic guitars, vibrant vocals and introspective lyrics that explore the journey and emotions most twenty-somethings experience (anxiety, wonderment, uncertainty) while pursuing an unconventional dream.

A standout track on Seven is the EP’s endearing closer “Pitchfork” that band member Kalil wrote on a post-tour drive home one day.

Kalil on the song’s meaning:

“I was thinking about the way that being a musician connects you with so many people while
simultaneously being extremely isolating.

I wanted to tell the people in my life that even though it’s not the easiest path that we’re on, it’s the right path and we’re not going to give up.”

If you want a refreshing indie-rock sound that speaks for the youth of today, stream Seven Dollar Paycheck on Soundcloud below and on Apple Music and Spotify.
