The 4-piece Los Angeles indie-rock group known as Arms Akimbo release their sophomore EP, Seven Dollar Paycheck.
The 5-track project features melodic guitars, vibrant vocals and introspective lyrics that explore the journey and emotions most twenty-somethings experience (anxiety, wonderment, uncertainty) while pursuing an unconventional dream.
A standout track on Seven is the EP’s endearing closer “Pitchfork” that band member Kalil wrote on a post-tour drive home one day.
Kalil on the song’s meaning:
“I was thinking about the way that being a musician connects you with so many people while
simultaneously being extremely isolating.
I wanted to tell the people in my life that even though it’s not the easiest path that we’re on, it’s the right path and we’re not going to give up.”
