Album Review: Green Knuckle Material – “Back to Your Roots” + Comic Book

New Jersey-based alternative rap/rock group Green Knuckle Material returns to The Dope Show with their upcoming EP, Back to Your Roots, set to be released on May 25th.

The songs on the 3-track project are reissues from the GKM’s original Back to Your Roots album, that was released in 2016.

Since then, the band underwent some line-up changes and wanted to reimagine those songs with the new line-up.

A highlight on the new EP is the opener “Childhood” that’s a feel-good track where we find the band’s frontman reminiscing about being a carefree kid growing up in the 90s.

Accompanying the EP release is an exclusive 116-page comic book that chronicles the history, formation, and reformation of the band.
Make sure to check out Back to Your Roots on May 24th and support their Indiegogo campaign for the comic book here.

And if you’re in the Teaneck, NJ area, the EP release show is going down at Debonair Music Hall on May 25th. Click here for the details.
