Album Alert: Vega – Holographic

Michigan artist Vega returns to The Dope Show with his latest album, Holographic, that was produced entirely by Detroit native W$KHARRI (Dej Loaf’s official DJ).

The 10-track project is a liberating breath of fresh air for Vega as he embraces his idiosyncrasies and meshes them with his love of music.

Vega on the creative concept of Holographic:

“In this life, the right people will like you for who you are and you’ll find happiness in being yourself. A lot of that is reflected in the video game sound effects on the beats and with the things that I talk about. The idea for the name Holographic came from Pokemon cards, so really it’s just me embracing my nerdy side and putting it into the hip-hop culture that I’ve grown into with my music.”

Highlights on the album include the buttery-smooth “Show & Tell” where he directly addresses a potential love interest, and “Unwind” that cleverly samples Zapp & Roger‘s 1993 slow jam “Slow and Easy.”
