New York emcee Dave Dar delivers his debut EP, The Star Seed” EP: Secure The Pure.

After being sonically involved with members of the Soulquarian collective (D’angelo, Erykah Badu, Common, Blackstar, Reflection Eternal, and The Roots), he’s now ready to put his creativity into his own solo venture with the new 5-track project.

Serving as a triple threat, Dave produced, rapped on and mixed every song, and even recruited lyrical heavyweights like Homeboy Sandman, Rasheed Chappell and Milano Constantine for guest features.

Aside from the bar-heavy “Let It Off,” standout tracks on the EP include the laid-back, low-key “New York Is Red Hot!” as well as the boom-bap, nostalgic “I Am.”

What’s next up for Dave is the full-length Star Seed LP followed by a series of 7-inch singles that’ll feature production by Pete Rock, Nottz, and The Beatminerz.
